Has anyone heard of VisorTAG? It is a great idea to display and remove the handicapped tag without the need to hang it or remove it from the rearview mirror. Check it out at www.jlsafety.com, or www.visortag.com. My mother-in-law uses it in SC and very pleased with it. You simply insert the tag into the visortag frame holder, and clip it on to the visor, and pull it (...) View more
To get handicap parking card in NC, anyone can pick up form, have Dr check reason why such as can't walk greater than 200 feet or complete the back as to why you are handicapped, then sign. HC person takes to DMV and pays for HC card. I know I could get one for each of our cars but not sure the limit. I know that some people may take advantage of handicapped parking spaces, but my question is, what gives you the right to say whether a person needs it or not? I have not been reported yet, but I know the stares of people who do not believe that I need to park in a handicapped space. You see, I am a 19 year old female who looks perfectly normal. I do not limp or appear to be in obvious agony (...) View more
Whe I lived in New York, if you took a picture of the person's car, including the license plate number and the handicapped sing in the same picture, the local PD would mail them a ticket!!! What a great idea and now wiht digital cameras, it costs hardly anything to do this. Wish allt he states did this.
If the sign says handicapped only and $xxx fine-then if you are parked there and don't have a permit for such parking-stop complaining and do some exercsie and walk-you are not special otherwise everyone else should do the same thing but that isn't right either. The cops should crack down on this more and where i live, at night the local police come around and give out tickets while you (...) View more

I see too many of these post indicating "no visible handicap." Who do these idiots think they are; if a placard or license plate is issue - STORY OVER! Live with it. Where did you get your medical license? K-Mart; Big Lots? Come now, just complain about the ones that fail to post the placard or DO NOT have a disabled license plate - LEAVE US ALONE!

My daughter, in school learning special ed teaching, has volunteer in South America helping the disabled. Most have never had any adaptive equipment at all, and the buses and other areas are not accessible. She describes a 30 year old woman that is carried by her family to the disabled school. There, the woman lays on a blanket on the floor all day.
