My mother is 69 years old and has always been healthy/lively. Three and a half years ago, she had a horrendous fall from a ladder and her leg was - well - put back on/together/knee replacement.... In addition, she has had breast cancer twice (just over 2 years ago). After the leg accident, she was issued a handicapped placard, and certainly needed it. For the past year or more, she has been fine. (...) View more
I am a 60 yr old diabetoc-amputee-paraplegic with legal handicapped plates on my vehicle. Recently, while parking at the Super-Store (Biggest in America), I cae out of the store and found a $300.00 ticket on my windshield! The claim was that I had "touched" the handicapp CROSSHATCH area that was there to assist ONLY those who were legally parked in the handicapped space I (...) View more
This is the stupidest waste of time I have ever heard of and possibly the most ignorant bunch I have ever yet to meet. My husband and I both have disabilities, we are NOT HANDICAPPED, his disability is visible and mine is not. If anyone EVER had the gall to watch me try and live my life and write down where I park I would really give it to them.
Yes, I understand my message is probably a (...) View more
My son has Becker's Muscular Dystrophy. He is 9 years old and walks normally. He just sometimes can't walk very far and doesn't have the stamina of boys his age. We normally leave the wheelchair in the trunk of the car, only using it when he gets tired or when we know we will be somewhere for long periods of time. We park in handicapped spaces because we never know when he will get (...) View more

Has anyone noticed that in all CVS's parking lots that the handicapped spaces are the one that are further from the door? I know it's because of the ramps, but not everyone that needs handicapped parking uses a wheelchair. I have MS and need a close space because I can't walk too far in the heat. I sure others with heart problems or some sort of other invisable disability needs (...) View more
I have a general question that I hope someone can answer. I work at a Government Agency that has a constant flow of clientele that come in to the office. In the day to day dealings, our parking lot in generally full the majority of the day, of course our disabled parking spots are in prime location for clients who believe they will "Only be a minute".

It's very hard to get a handicapped parking spot at the Blakeslee Flea Market, located at Rts. 115 & 940 in Blakeslee, PA. The guy that runs the market allows outside vendors to set up their merchandise in the handicapped spots. There are vendors that work inside the flea market that need these handicapped spots and who have the placards to prove it.
How do we get it throught this (...) View more
I think there should be some limits on handicapped stickers - you should have to renew them at least each time a drivers license is renewed and they should have a photo on them like the drivers license. I work with a woman who proudly said she and her able bodied family used their deceased grandmother's hang tag to park at a restaurant on a rainy day! They have no intention of turning it (...) I am a owner and shareholder of a summer property in Dutchess County NY. I would like to get information on rules of how many handicapped spaces should be provided on the property. We elect board members to enforce rules and such already in place, but the community is getting older per say and these board members acquire permits and tags and create spaces as they wish.... now our house rules say (...)
