Coachella, CAI just wanted to type a quick note on this issue. It seems there is a debate going on about the placards and their use at a parking meter. I want to clear up one thing about this issue. I have been studying this entire issue for a long time, but the subject of parking for free at a meter seems to be confused, so I want to clear it up on this forum once and for all.

Oakland, CAI received a sticker on my car - I have a handicap sticker due to the fact that I had a stroke last year and after a year of not working, was lucky enough to get a job but I cannot walk any distance; my balance is off still and if tired, I am totally screwed up. So whoever put this note on my car in front of 1939 Harrison Street,Oakland, CA - you don't know me; I do not take advantage and (...) View more

Las Vegas, NVI have MS and I have to park in this parking lot almost every day. There aren't many handicap spaces so you have show up early. However almost every day this gymnast instructor (yes a gymnast instructor) parks her SUV in the last handicap spot then her and her children literally jump, bounce and cartwheel themselves into the building.
If you wish to see a picture of this startling (...) View more -

Coachella, CAI was at my local Lowes today and I got into my van and did as I always do, transfer from my wheelchair to my drivers seat and get my body in order, put on my seat-belt and another car pulled up in the HC space next to me. I thought nothing of it and kept doing what I was doing when I looked to my left and I noticed that the man who was driving the car that is now parked next to me is standing on (...) View more

whippany, NJCan anyone tell me if they know how I can tell if someone is using an expired handicap placard? All I have is the number but I don't know if their placard belongs to them or if it is theirs, how can I tell if it's valid or not. I would appreciate the help. I would hate to report someone who actually has a valid placard. The person looks healthy, comes to work everyday but uses the (...) View more

farmersville, TXAs a doctor, I hate these placards. All the lying - like I'm stupid; I just saw you walk in. I just want to tell some people: "If you think I'm this dumb, you really shouldn't trust me as your doctor." Your site has given me strength that someone else hates the cheaters and liars as much as I do. And, I know I'm using politically incorrect words, but, hey, (...) View more

My sister has been handicapped for several years now, she is legally blind and with other serious health issues with her lungs, heart, and fluid retention, she cannot walk very far without stressful breathing. She has not driven herself for years and has depended on many church friends, neighbors, to get her to doctor's appointments, the pharmacy, grocery store, and (...) View more -

Colorado Springs, COI just want to deter future helpers from this mistake. I went to my orthopaedic surgeons office today after having my 57th (YES, number 57) surgery on 5/18/10. I parked in a handicap spot and realized that I only had an old placard in my vehicle. My new one was in my other car. I was inside for just shy of 20 minutes to get stitches removed and my open hole re-packed. I have a prosthetic by the (...) View more

Some of us have disabilities that cannot be seen. We can walk just fine at times, other times we have great difficulty. I have COPD, Osteoarthritis, Degenerative Disc Disease, Enlarged Heart and Fibromyalgia. Some days I can do just about anything I need to. That means walk just fine. Other days my COPD makes me dizzy, short of breath and hard to walk. My knees are (...) View more
