I understand the purpose of this project is to make people aware of the abuses or simple mistakes people make parking in a handicapped spot, but is it working? How many of these reported people/vehicles have actually been reported to the state DMV and what was the outcome? Will we ever know?

Posted on a couple sites and also shown on TV today Julia Roberts and her husband parking in a handicapped spot. I thought those on this site should know even celebs don't care.

Be proactive. Stop whinning and report the offenders to the police. Stay at the offenders location until the police arrive. Be a witness. I even prevent them from leaving. Take a picture with your cell to show the cops. Do you think the offenders read these posts and stop what they are doing? I am a reasonably young woman who has multiple sclerosis with significant disability. I rely on a wheelchair for mobility. I drive a van. I've read a few of the posts and find it sad to see there are seemingly more posts from apparently truly handicapped posters defending themselves than posts from those reporting offenders. I don't know the specific laws in other states, but I believe the handicapped parking requirement in Florida is absolutely clear. Reporting offenders to this site is fine, but you also need to make a phone call on your cell and make a Police Report. In my area, the police don't respond timely. I have called 20/30 times with no response. But i'll continue; I figure that the squeeky wheel gets the grease . I also email the mayors of the offending/non-responsive cities. I have Muliple Sclerosis and have beeen verbally attacked by grocery baggers for parking in handicap. I have a legal parking permit to park in handicap and only do when i am having my bad days.
