San Antonio, TXI also have multiple sclerosis (I'm 40) and have a placard. One day a couple of summers ago I had to use handicap parking because of the south Texas heat. (Many times it's not the walking in - but the walking out that gets me!)
I get out of my mini-van and start to approach the building to enter when a much older man GRABS my arm and growls "You certainly don't look (...) View more -

I live with constant chronic pain and I just got my disability permit.
DID YOU KNOW that 90% of Americans with disabilities show no outwards signs of being disabled? 90% Stop picking on people who aren't disabled enough for your liking. Mind your own damn business. if you were really concerned about the disabled you could donate time or money to many fine (...) View more -

n/a, CAso, when Birdshall sends the placard, how are they going to figure out if the placard and car license number do NOT match, but the handicapped person was in the car?

Mountain View, CAThanks for creating this site. I found it after watching the local news and seeing that people from the site were involved in helping the Bay Area Police Depts crack down on abuse. This was apparently just the second time this year that they had done so. I have shared your site with my friends and ordered my pad of stickies. I will be using every time I find someone.

Burlingame, CASaw the news last night.
This whole website and campaign are so sad!
Poor Maureen is shooting herself in the foot (well, that would be if she could see her foot, or feet, which are probably strangers to her for the past several years...). (...) View more -

herndon, VAI use to work for this facility called Hoop Magic Sports Academy in Chantilly,Va. and I go there now just for my daughters basketball games. Every time I go there are employees parked in handicap parking and they do not enforce it, because its private property. When I worked there pro bono(before I was told I could no longer work there, because I was a risk to their insurance due to my (...)

Oakland, CAI wanted to send a suggestion but your CONTACT US link does not work. So here it is, How about sorting the reports by states so we don't have to slog through so much chaff. There is really nothing I can do about out of area scofflaws but I'd be interested in helping out in my neighborhood if I could narrow the focus a bit.
I have friends who need and use plaquards. It is so (...) View more -

Vancouver, WAI found a website (http://search.dmv.org/dmv/disabled%20parking%20permit), you can copy and paste, that has great information and links to each states DMV website. The site and the DMV website outline what constitutes a "disability" and procedures on how to apply through your state DMV.
Keep in mind that the first site gives an overview of each states requirement and then a direct (...) View more -

denver, COI certainly do agree that are illnesses, diseases that cause non-visible disablilites. I myself have MS and sometimes due to the nerve damage it is very painful for me to walk. You could not tell from looking at me, but yould could certainly tell by the way I walk, slower than most people and very careful. The chances of me being able to sprint out of a car or elsewhere are minimal.
All the (...) View more -

San Diego, CAHere's a recent event: I own my own business which requires that I visit the post office several times a week. There are two accessible parking spaces in front of the building, and about 95% of the time at least one of them is occupied. Since I have a van with a lift to transport me and my wheelchair, the "regular" spaces do not have enough room. I often have to wheel my wheelchair (...) View more
