Comments:: Two young women in their 20's. They hiked the 2,200 feet up to Mission peak. This is a very popular trail & the parking lots get full early, they misused the handicap placard to save themselves the 1/2 mile walk up the road on concrete sidewalks. When I approached them the driver claimed she had a "sprained ankle". She had no limp, no cane & no walking poles. However, when I explained the placard would be a red temporary card if that situation were true, & not a blue permanent placard they started yelling at me. One of them said she is a nurse (maybe she is using a patient's placard). I have cervical Dystonia & must use a cane or trekking poles to walk or to hike. They accused me of not being handicapped (I wish). IT is a struggle, but I love hiking; I love the outdoors. I have been a hiker for over 30 years & want to continue enjoying it as long as possible. The car was a grey Toyota Highlander.
